YOUTH ON EUROPE | Regionalisation of the EU

Regionalisation is on the rise in Europe. The Scottish people have just held a referendum for independence from the United Kingdom, Catalans did the same, although only inofficially, to redefine their relationship with Spain. Although Scotland will remain a part of the United Kingdom and the Catalan referendum has not been declared valid, a trend to more independence becomes increasingly visible. What are the reasons for more and more European regions striving for independence? And what does it mean for the future of European integration? On 14 November 2014, MEP Elmar Brok (EPP) discussed the issue with young Europeans from five European countries at our event YOUTH ON EUROPE | Regionalisation of the EU. In a few days you will find the videorecording of the discussion round right here. So stay tuned!
