Ethics are essentially moral standards that will help guide a person’s actions, and on a larger scale influence societal frameworks. Ethics is amazing as there are so many different opinions and it is rather broad. Therefore, it is possible to focus on the implications of GMO and longevity of fair-trade, whilst also tackling the virulent homophobia in Chechnya and its violation of human rights.

We want to impress that in working with this group, there is a recognition that issues are intersectional, and not simply black and white. It will also be encouraged to connect with other working groups to ensure that our ethical perspectives are as full as possible.

All in all, if you love debates, understanding many different perspectives, tackling challenging questions (that are often existential), and like working in teams: join Ethics. I am greatly interested in many diverse perspectives, so that we can also set our own ethical standards as young people in Europe.

If you believe that these ideas just utterly describe you, or you’d honestly like to give it a try and learn something new, then please consider Ethics. If you want to join this working group, please contact Cherelle Malongo (cherelle@ycf.my-europe.org).
