With Bucharest being the second city to host a workshop on 10 and 11 October 2011, sixteen students of the Saint Sava National College and the George Cosbuc Bilingual National College had the chance to take part in the ”My Europe“ initiative.

On ‘Europe Day’ at OMV Petrom’s, the former Romanian Chief Negotiator to the European Union, Professor Puscas, provided the teenagers with first-hand insight into European negotiations processes and the complexity of diplomacy. Ciprian Ciucu, Program Director at the Romanian Centre for European Policies, discussed the European Freedom of Movement in particular regard to Schengen and Romania. Last but not least, reporter Laura Stefanut of Romania libera presented a role play that enabled each teenager to choose an individual European topic for his/her article.

The editorial office of the Romanian tabloid Libertatea served as headquarters for the European Scriptorium on ‘Journalism Day’. Alina Vlad, Chief of World Department, presented the daily work of a journalist and answered all the students’ question related to journalistic writing, deadlines, etc. Another highlight of the day was an interview with Adelina Pestritu, a presenter of the Romanian TV show D-Paparazzi.
